Owszem - w przypadku gdy po 'what' będzie występował znak zapytania, będzie jak najbardziej poprawnie, ale autorowi raczej nie chodziło o taki zabieg. IMHO to po prostu nieznajomość gramatyki

zjadłem... ale comma'e, poza tym, nie oglądałem filmiku (kondensacja głupoty w jednej klatce jest zbyt duża dla mnie), więc skąd miałem wiedzieć, że gość użył czasu przeszłego?
btw. używaj polskiego tłumaczenia, angielskie są dobre na ćwiczeniach z grammy.
